The purpose of this study was to identify and examine the factors that affect the successful implementation of electronic-business in Nigeria. The specific
objectives of the study were to examine the effects of organizational factors,
technological factors and environmental factors on the implementation of
electronic business in Nigeria. The survey research design was adopted for the study and primary data was collected using a designed questionnaire. 280 questionnaires were administered to selected respondents comprising;
business owners, managers and employees of businesses currently operating electronic-business in Nigeria. The data collected were analyzed using logistic regressions to determine the effect of each factor. Further analysis was conducted using Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to determine the major factors (latent variables). The finding of the study showed that organizational factors, technological factors and environmental factors have a significant effect on the implementation of electronic-business in Nigeria. The result of the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) showed that complexity related to IT specialist and electronic-business processes are the major factors affecting the electronic-business implementation in Nigeria. Based on this finding of this study, it was recommended that businesses seeking to implement electronicbusiness in Nigeria, should consider outsourcing the process to reputable specialist or agencies.
